Emeryville, CA – On July 10, the California Energy Commission approved AB 525 Strategic Plan, representing a collaborative effort from state agencies and stakeholders to chart offshore wind’s future in California. In response, Atlas Wind Project Manager Martin Goff issued the following statement:

“Today marks a significant milestone for offshore wind in California. We applaud the California Energy Commission for approving the AB 525 Strategic Plan and laying an actionable pathway to developing a robust offshore wind industry at scale. We will continue working collaboratively with California government and all stakeholders to utilize this plan and its permitting roadmap, plan to develop needed transmission, and prioritization of port infrastructure to deliver 10 GW of offshore wind by 2035. Establishment of this Strategic Plan paves the way for the build-out of the offshore wind industry together with California and its communities to achieve our shared climate goals and ensure energy reliability and resilience for all.”
