We’re proud to support the fishing industry.

We are committed to coexistence with commercial and recreational stakeholders and aim to proactively avoid, minimize or mitigate impacts on fishing where feasible throughout all phases of the project life cycle. Equinor is engaged in the California Coastal Commission’s 7C alongside representatives from the California commercial fishing industry and tribal fisheries to develop best practices and guidance for coexistence.

We are working with a number of organizations to help respond to questions and concerns and to disseminate project updates, news, and information.

Elizabeth Ann Korowski hails from Long Island, New York and has been actively and passionately working with the commercial and recreational fishing communities for over twenty years, both as a field scientist and fisherman. Immediately after graduating from the University of Rhode Island with a Bachelor of Science in Marine Biology, she began working for the Ocean Technology Foundation as a field scientist for the Lobster Restoration project in response to the North Cape Oil spill in 1996. Ms. Marchetti then landed a position as a Point Judith NOAA Port Agent. Elizabeth assisted and supported the fishing industry with their inquiries as well as collected biological samples such as otoliths and vertebrae daily for the Northeast Fisheries Science Center. From there she began working as a field scientist within NOAA’s Cooperative Research Branch, working with fishermen for technical support with electronic vessel trip reporting as well as conducting at sea biosampling upon commercial fishing vessels.

In 2015, Ms. Kordowski was selected to become the Block Island Wind Farm Fisheries Liaison, working with the fishing industry, Deep Water Wind, National Grid and the R.I. Coastal Resources Management Council on the country’s first successful offshore wind farm. She has also served as an Offshore Fisheries Liaison Officer upon the R/V Ocean Researcher for the 2018 Empire Wind Geotechnical Survey.

Elizabeth is a member of the California Coastal Commission 7c Fisheries OSW Working Group.
