Emeryville, CA – Last Friday, the California Energy Commission released its draft AB 525 Strategic Plan, representing a collaborative effort from state agencies and stakeholders to chart offshore wind’s future in California. In response, Atlas Wind Project Manager Martin Goff issued the following statement:

Equinor and Atlas Wind applaud the California Energy Commission for its leadership and dedication to California’s critical and nation leading offshore wind target of 25 GW by 2045. The draft AB 525 Strategic Plan provides crucial recommendations that need to be acted upon quickly and decisively to achieve a more balanced, reliable and affordable portfolio of renewable resources that includes floating offshore wind at scale. We look forward to continuing to partner with communities and state leaders to address transmission planning, establish a central procurement process, and identify early-stage funding for ports to build out supportive infrastructure for the delivery of offshore wind power to Californians.”
